Interactive Facades - Workshop on light as material
Architecture and urban spaces are constantly changing. We no longer think of spaces as static and uniform, but rather fragmented, changeable and dynamic. With new technologies it is possible to animate the space and architecture around us. The cities' facades become dynamic and communicate with the world and surrounding context, around it.
During the 'Se Lyset' (see the light) exhibition, the Danish Design Centre has installed 6 large screens that in the facade pointing to H.C. Andersens Boulevard in downtown Copenhagen. All in all the screens cover an area of about 80 square feet and the potentials are plenty.
That is why CAVI, Center for Digital Urban Living and Martin Professional in association with the Danish Design Center, would like to invite designers, artists and other people interested, to try and work with this media throughout a two-day workshop. The purpose is to test the visual possibilities and experiment with the interactive and communicative potentials that exists in a public media of this magnitude and visibility.
