3XNielsen’s architectonics
In connection with the research project Digital Urban Living the architecture company 3XNielsen and CAVI worked together in producing an installation for the exhibition "Mind your Behaviour". [Read more]
Loop City
For the 12th. Architect biennale in Venice – one of the world's biggest architect exhibitions- CAVI has in collaboration with the architects at BIG ,Kollision and Danish Architect Centre, DAC developed the movie installation "1947-2047: From Fingerplan to Loop City", which was a part of the Danish pavilion. [Read more]
Holger the Dane
The statue of Holger the Dane seems almost intimidating as he just sits there sleeping. Through CAVI developed technology it is now possible to bring Holger the Dane to life trough an interactive visualization. [Read more]
Mannequin
CAVI has in collaboration with the artist/director/choreographer/dancer Ingrid Kristensen created an artwork where a static physical installation – a mannequin doll – comes almost alive with the use of advanced 3D objection on a physical object. [Read more]
EXPO
In the creation of the façade of Danish Pavilion, which can be regarded as a big and complex spiral shaped media façade, the CAVI developed technology "advanced 3D projection on a physical object" was used as a design tool. [Read more]
Mejlbystenen
In an attempt to give museum guests a different experience when they came to visit the 1000 year old rune stone, the Mejlby Stone, Tekne Production have helped creating a magical storytelling that awakens the mysterious runes on the stone. With projectors and tracking, the story of the stone is told through animation, illusion and sound, and makes the audience an active part of the storytelling. [Read more]
Outline
3D projection on physical objects is a technology that augments a physical object by projecting digital content directly onto it – hence giving the object a new digital layer. 3D projections rely on a precise mapping of the physical space onto which they are projected, but it is still a flexible technology, which can be adapted for different cases, installations and purposes. Advanced 3D projection can be used as a design tool or it can be the design itself.
Cases
The series of installations explore the potential of advanced 3D projection onto physical objects, and have been developed as parts of full-scale experimental projects in collaboration with external partners, and have been displayed at settings such as museums, international architectural exhibitions and at CAVI. The installations are the outcome of three years of ongoing research and development into the field of 3D projection.
