Experience-oriented applications of digital technology in knowledge dissemination and marketing

This project explores the innovative applications of interactive digital technologies in the areas of knowledge dissemination and marketing. One of the resulting contributions of the project is to contribute to developing Danish competence in this field to the wider benefit of institutions of knowledge dissemination, manufacturers and the retail sector in general, as well as to the benefit of the field of advertising and marketing in particular.

Retailers today not only present their products by showing them, but, increasingly, by staging them with the aim of attracting and holding on to the customer by creating fascinating experiences. A similar development is evident in international wholesaling.
In museums, a dramatic development has occurred over the past thirty to forty years. From the museums of the 1960s, where visitors viewed the objects on display in glass showcases along with the accompanying information on signs, to the items exhibited in the subsequent decades being shown in a setting of some sort, and later, to an increasing extent, this has been supplemented by various ways of activating the visitor such as by giving the museum visitors tasks to be completed by paying attention to the information presented in the collection.
