COLORSCAN is an interactive lighting installation created by the centre for Digital Urban Living at the University of Aarhus. The installation is equipped with a technology, that scans the surrounding area for clear colors and uses these colors to change the light emitted.
The scanner is visible as a crosshair, that moves around the people passing by. This way, new colors, which are affected by the people passing, are continuously selected.
The interactive technology is a suggestion to a new type of interactive lighting, which can be used on any type of building or any three-dimensional construction. By using the interactive element, the people passing by are involved in affecting their surroundings and hereby creating an involvement between people and context.
